Class 7L Drivers License
Online Learners Series
All Nations Driving Academy hosts a monthly online Class 7 (Learner) driver education workshop to support individuals and communities preparing for the ICBC Class 7 knowledge test. This is the first entry point into drivers licensing and will eventually allow students to operate a passenger vehicle.
Our sessions are designed for Indigenous communities, Friendship Centres, and community organizations looking to offer consistent, accessible licensing education without in-vehicle instruction. Workshops can be promoted locally and attended by individuals or small groups.
The focus is on understanding the licensing process, reviewing key knowledge areas, and building confidence in a supportive, culturally safe learning environment.
Who This Workshop is For
This Class 7 workshop is intended for:
- Individuals preparing to write the ICBC Class 7 (Learner) knowledge test
- Community members who benefit from guided review and plain-language explanation
- Indigenous communities and Friendship Centres supporting licensing access
- Employment, education, or training programs that include driver licensing as a goal
No prior driving experience is required to attend. Participants must be 16 years old and hold two pieces of valid ID to be able to write the knowledge test.
What to Expect In The Online Session
Each workshop is facilitated by All Nations Driving Academy and focuses on preparation—not testing. During the session, participants can expect:
- An overview of the ICBC Class 7 licensing process
- Review of rules of the road and common test topics
- Discussion of road signs, signals, and safe driving practices
- Practice questions and examples similar to those found on the knowledge test
- Guidance on what to expect on test day
- Time for questions and clarification
Sessions are delivered in plain language and are designed to reduce anxiety, not create pressure. Courses will be delivered in the evening from Monday to Thursday in two hour blocks to ensure a responsible pace in learning and allow those who are in school or are employed the opportunity to participate.
This style of schedule also allows space for students who feel ready to write their knowledge test at the end of the week.
What This Workshop Does Not Include
To avoid confusion, please note:
- This workshop does not include in-vehicle driving instruction
- It does not replace the official ICBC knowledge test
- Attendance does not guarantee a pass on the test
The workshop is intended to support preparation and understanding alongside individual study. We are happy to support your community in engaging ICBC or Service BC to set up in-community testing or testing appointments at your local appointed agent or ICBC office.
Class 7L Basic Requirements
To apply for a Class 7 (Learner) licence in British Columbia, individuals generally need to meet the following requirements:
- Meet the minimum age requirement set by ICBC
- Provide acceptable identification
- Complete a vision screening
- Write and pass the Class 7 knowledge test
Licence requirements may change. Participants are encouraged to confirm current requirements directly with ICBC or their local driver licensing office. We would also suggest a prior reachout to ICBC to ensure there are no outstanding issues or potential tickets that need to be taken care of prior to testing.
